Ralph R. Herb, 98, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Golden Years Homestead Hospice. He was a graduate of South Side High School.
Ralph honorably served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army for three and half years. After his service he enrolled at Valparaiso University under the GI bill. He graduated with a degree in accounting and met his future wife, Ruth (Ulmer) Herb. After graduation he worked as an apprentice for Philo Farnsworth in Fort Wayne, IN.
Later he worked in the purchasing departments for Magnavox, Bowser, and American Hoist before retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he was a Scout leader and served on various church boards. Ralph was known as a very detailed oriented and regimented man.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; four sons, Mark (Dia), Philip (Barb), David (Peggy) all of Fort Wayne, and Daniel (Bernice) of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Karl (Michelle) Herb, Kayleen Herb, Kathryn (Andrew) Lehman, Nathan (Aleesha) Herb, Christina (James) Alliger, Tabetha (Adam) Westrick, Alicia (Ben) Hosinski, Blake Herb, Lydia Herb, and Caleb Herb; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service is 12:00 noon, Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1126 Barr St., with calling one hour prior. Burial at Old Concordia Cemetery.
