Preston Arnold Fries, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Born in Vicksburg, Michigan, Preston was the son of the late Ralph and Bonnie Fries. He graduated from South Side High School and, in 1979, earned his Associate's in Business Administration. Preston proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience he carried with great pride throughout his life.

During his working years, Preston worked as a tool and die maker and later owned his own model car business. He had an incredible eye for detail and took great pride in creating specialty parts for 1/24-scale model cars. His passion for the hobby led him to become an active member of the Northeast Indiana Model Car Club, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of model building with others.

Preston was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed playing cards, attending church, and spending time helping others in need. His generous heart and willingness to lend a hand touched the lives of many people. Preston's faith was an important part of his life, and he was a devoted founding member of Praise International.

Surviving are his children, Carrie Fries and Christopher (Rebecca) Fries; grandchildren, Keegan Hicks, Kyle Hicks, Justin Lewis, and Kasey Fries; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Tracy Dwight, David Dwight, Candy Russell, Nancy Yorkovich, and Sharon Torres.

Preston was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Fries; grandchildren, Kayla and Kelton Fries; and siblings, Gregory Fries, Raymond Fries and Louis Fries.

A Celebration of Preston's Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Praise International, 1414 Archer Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46808 with a light meal to follow.
