Phyllis Shappell, 84, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Burl and Violet Muter. Phyllis graduated from North Side High School. Phyllis was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandma to her family. She enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden, plants and her landscape. She truly embraced the role of being a grandma and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Randal (Cathy) Shappell, Jeff (Laurie) Shappell, Jill (Steve Munson) Smith; grandchildren, Luke, Wesley, Jarrod, Jordan, Conner; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Karen) Muter. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Ronald "Ron" Shappell. Service is 10 am, Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Bethel Ministries, 8405 Lima Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street. Burial in Huntertown, Cemetery.
