Phyllis Joan Eakright, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 6, 2024. Born in Larwill, Indiana, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Eley. Phyllis married Robert Lee "Squirrel" Eakright on May 14, 1950 in Silver Lake, Indiana. They were married nearly 68 years until his passing in 2018. Phyllis was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandma and great-grandma to her family. She enjoyed going gambling with her daughter, sitting on her porch, going out to eat with her friends and bragging about her family to whomever would listen. Phyllis loved to clean her house (before her cleaning lady arrived), re-organize her furniture, and collect purses and blankets. She was a member of Grace Gathering. Surviving are her children, Douglas (Ann) Eakright, Deb Cour, Craig (Jill) Eakright, Scott (Shannyn Petree) Eakright; grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Eakright, Jackie (Chris) Gerbers, Jerrod (Jessica) Eakright, Jessica (Ryan) Graber, Matt (Ashley) Cour, Trevor (Erica) Eakright, Travis (Jayden) Eakright, Ashley (Ryan) McCallion, Shae Eakright, Paige Eakright; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia Eley. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eakright; son-in-law, Brian Cour; and brother, Jack Eley. Service is 1 pm, Monday, December 9, 2024 at Grace Gathering, 3157 Minnich Road New Haven, with calling from 11 am until the service. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, Indiana.
