Memorial Service
Philip C. Ross, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Phil was born June 21, 1940, in Dayton, OH to the late Irvine “Ted” E. and Elisabeth L. (Brown) Ross. After graduating from North Side High School and Taylor University, he married Barbara Driver on June 25, 1966.
Phil was a long-time member of Memorial Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. He had a beautiful tenor voice, sang in church choirs and quartets, was a soloist at many weddings and, later in life, enjoyed performing later with the Summit City Singers. Philip retired in 1995 after many decades working for General Electric. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife. He loved dogs, raising and training Leader Dogs for the Blind and spent many years volunteering for Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control. Some of his very favorite times were with family around the pool and on his parents’ porch, at the beach and sharing holidays together.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barb; daughter, Kristin (Kerry) Lederman; granddaughters, Brooke Elisabeth and Catherine Marie Lederman; sister, Kathy (Gary) Ross Martin; sister-in-law, Claudette Ross; nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David James Ross.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Faith Baptist Church (6600 Trier Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815) at 3:00 pm with visitation prior, beginning at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Leader Dogs for the Blind, www.leaderdog.org.
