It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Peter J. Ford of Fort Wayne, IN, on December 27, 2023. He was an avid golfer, traveler, and Rock Steady boxer, and his kind nature will be forever remembered by all who knew him. Peter's genuine wish to help others led him through a lifelong career in Human Resources. His office door remained open to thousands for many years at Allegiance Health and Parkview Health, and later with the Allen County library before retiring in 2012. Peter's life remained dynamic until the end thanks to the excellent care he received from LLV Pine Valley and Heartland Hospice during his final years with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife Christine, brothers Stephen (Joyce) of Wilmington, DE.; John (Terry) of West Palm Beach, FL.; and Fr. Christopher M. Ford of Hartford, CT.; his daughters Kathleen, Anna, and Janet (Stephen) Beckley; and three beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Janet Ford of Madison, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church 1502 E. Wallen Rd. on Wednesday January 3, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also take place on Tuesday January 2, 2024 from 3:00-6:00pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Preferred memorials in Peter's honor maybe directed to St Vincent De Paul Society.
