Perry R. Ehresman, age 69, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Armour, SD to the late Norman (Dorothy) Ehresmann and Marlene (Lou) Probst. Perry was employed by Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation for 43 years and retired as Deputy Director of Leisure Services in 2015. Perry worked with community groups and served on many committees and boards throughout his career. The City of Fort Wayne Mayor proclaimed August 28, 2015 as Perry Ehresman Day. Perry enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandson Zane, boating, fishing, golf and target shooting. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, and grandpa who was generous, kind, dedicated, well-respected, and loved. Perry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Karen Miller Ehresman; daughters, Karman (Clint) Hacker and Kandace Ehresman; grandson, Zane Hacker; siblings, Sheila (Ed) Mertens, Chris (Mike) Gibson, and Rod (Melody) Ehresman; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Service is 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 7 2022 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with calling following the service. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
