Peggy Lee Tackett, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born in Buffalo, Wyoming, Peggy was a daughter of the late Ernest Weigle and Ruby Helton. She worked as a counselor for Mount Comprehensive Care Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, for over 15 years before her retirement.
Peggy enjoyed drawing and expressing herself through art. She was also a wonderful cook and took great pride in preparing meals for her family. Above all, Peggy cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She also had a love for plants and gardening and enjoyed spending time caring for the things she had grown.
Surviving are her children, Calvin (Jodi) Tackett and Chrissy (Danny) Queen; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Toni, Stormy, and Theresa.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walk L. Tackett; her children, Craig Tackett and Minnie Paige; and siblings, Frank and Jimmy.
A private family service will take place, with entombment at Gethsemane Gardens in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
