Paul Albert Karrer, 82, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Paul was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Deck) Karrer. Paul graduated from Central Catholic High School. Paul served our country proudly while being in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked at GE as a journeyman for 37 years, prior to his retirement. Paul was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church-New Haven and had a passion for volunteering with the local food banks. Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed all the activities and challenges that nature had to offer. Besides being an outdoorsman, Paul also enjoyed creative artwork by wood carving, and leather work. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Nancy Karrer; children, Chris (Jenn Willms) Karrer, Karen Karrer, Libby (Todd) Miller, Paul Karrer Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon, Nicole, Danielle, Alex, Floyd; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Cameron, Dakota and one on the way; and his sister, Rosemary Davis. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church New Haven, 943 Powers Street, with calling one hour prior. Burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a local food bank of the donor's choice.
