Patricia "Pat" R. More of Crooked Lake and Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home with lifelong friends at her side on Friday, August 23, 2024. Pat was born on May 11, 1930, in Rochester, Indiana. Ervin W. More and Stella (Nill) More opened their hearts and arms to welcome her into their home. They preceded her in death. Pat graduated from Fort Wayne North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1948. Pat then went on to graduate from Methodist Hospital school of Nursing in Fort Wayne. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from St. Francis College. Pat worked in Nursing and taught Nursing at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne before spending the last twenty-two years of her working career as Director of Nurses for the Red Cross Regional Blood Services in Fort Wayne. She retired from the Red Cross in 1987. Pat bought her Crooked Lake property in 1966 and then built a new home on this property in 1987 and moved to Crooked Lake after her retirement. She always enjoyed all of the lake activities. She has been a member of the Angola United Methodist Church since transferring her membership there in 1979. Pat enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. She also really enjoyed playing party bridge with her many friends and watching women's college basketball. She continued to follow those players that went on to play in the Women's National Basketball League and those who later became women's college or professional basketball coaches. Pat will have a memorial service at Angola United Methodist Church on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:00 pm. A public visitation will take place one hour prior to the service starting at noon.
