Patricia “Pat” Ann Fynquist, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born in Decatur, Iowa to the late Leo and Olive (Orfield) Dobson on December 28, 1935. Pat was one of 12 children.

After retiring from serving as a paralegal, Pat became quite a skilled “stitcher” excelling at needlepoint and quilting. She loved football and her Sunday political shows, often grumbling about the state of politics in America.

Pat is survived by three of her children, Patricia Summers, Mark Smedal, and Teresa Ryan. She was preceded in death by her siblings and by her daughter Catherine Smedal. She was a devoted mother, and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Pat will be laid to rest in Decatur, Iowa at the Palestine Cemetery, in the Dobson family plot along with many of her family members.
