Pashalis "Pete" Evangelidis, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 after an extended illness. He was born to Paschalis (posthumously) and Maria Evangelidis in Lefkadia, Greece. He was raised in a lovingly blended family by his mother and stepfather Theodore Diamonditis. He proudly served in the Greek military before immigrating to the United States at the age of 22. In 1976 Pashalis wed Dianna (Bunch), and remained happily married for over 43 years, building their lives and family together. He was primarily employed at the BF Goodrich - Woodburn plant, retiring from Michelin in 2003 after 33 years of dedicated employment. Post retirement, he could often be found providing rides to the surrounding Amish community or working in his garden. Pashalis had an affinity for auctions, cars, casinos, sports (soccer especially), and traveling. He particularly enjoyed living on the Treasure Coast of Florida during some of his retirement years. He was often quick to greet a stranger and subsequently bid adieu to a new friend. He is survived by his children - Lisa (Matt) Reighter of Spencerville, IN, Teresa Smith of Wentzville, MO, and Gregory Evangelidis of Fort Wayne, IN; Grandchildren - Logan Smith, Madelyn Reighter, and Grant Reighter; Sister - Stella (George) Dimisiaris.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Diamonditou, stepfather Theodore Diamonditis, wife Dianna, and siblings - Soula Kuriakou, Stella Kadras, and Kostas Diamantidis.
Funeral service for Pashalis will be on Friday November 22, 2024 at 12pm with calling beginning at 10 am, at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St. Burial will take place at Leo Memorial Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
