Norma Strimmenos passed away peacefully at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community on November 9, 2024 at the age of 93 surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was the youngest of 4 sisters. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, she married George Strimmenos in 1956. She then embarked on a 50 year career, working for various physicians, all while raising her 3 kids. Known for her positive disposition, her great ability to guide, train, and work with everyone, she made a lasting, wonderful impression on all who knew her. Norma's beauty and sense of style could only be rivaled by her grace, kindness, and love of others.
Her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She spent everyday learning about and participating in their lives. Her incredible capacity to love unconditionally was unmatched. Her advice was constantly sought, and her opinion was highly valued. Her children were her greatest treasures and the feeling was mutual. She loved all creatures, especially her dogs, not to mention her birds and squirrels and bunnies. She loved a snowy day, a warm crackling fire, a sunny beach, a suntan, a glass of wine, changing seasons, the crisp autumn air.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheli (Mark) Peterschmidt and Gina (Mark) Schatzman, and her son, Nick (Sarah) Strimmenos, as well as 5 grandchildren: Aaron (Alyssa) Peterschmidt, Ali (Anthony) Rizzo, George Strimmenos, Savannah and Isaac Schatzman. Great grandmother of 5.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters, and grandson Jacob.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Club Soda from 2-5pm.
