Nelson Jacky Bailey passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2025. He was born on September 18,1946, in Salyersville, Kentucky to Frank and Nancy Bailey. He proudly served his country as an army veteran. On October 13, 1982, He married the love of his life, Arlene Miller. Together they built a life full of love, family, and success. Nelson and Arlene accomplished so much throughout their years together, Including the founding of two mixologist schools. Nelson also managed Tootsie's Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee, for several years, where He was well known and respected. Above all, he was the best dad, husband & family man. Nelson and Arlene were blessed with 8 Daughters: Tammy Su (Bailey) Lovely, Michael & Dewonna Conn, Raquel Bailey & Michelle Klemm, Tammy & Jay Troike, Pamela Williams, Helen & Derrick Staley; brother, Hank Bailey & Children; sister-in-Law, Brenda Bailey & Children. He was a Proud Grandfather to 23 Grandchildren, including: Kenneth Travis Campbell & Children, Faith & Ralph Neeley & Children, Travis & Jennifer Rowe & Children, Sidney Wireman & Children, Skylar & Owen Heintz…And many more beautiful great grandkids. Too many to list, each of whom brought him so much joy. Nelson was Preceded in Death by His Parents; his daughter, Monica Gina Bailey; 1 sister, Ruby Gilbert; 3 brothers, Frank Bailey, James Bailey & Bobby Jo Bailey; and 2 grandchildren, Tony Ray Grigsby Jr. and Nikki Nicole Grigsby. A Celebration of Life will be held at GoodWay Baptist Church in Medaryville, Indiana, On September 6, 2025, at 7 pm With Pastor James Rowe officiating. Nelson will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hard work and the love he shared for his baby dog, Bella and everyone whose lives he touched.
