Naomi Pauline Pohl, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Born in Goshen, Indiana, Naomi was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Marie (Bailey) Swihart. She graduated from New Paris High School and later earned her accounting degree from Fort Wayne Commercial College. Throughout her working years, Naomi served as a bookkeeper for several businesses until her retirement. She was also an active volunteer for many organizations over the years.
Family and friends were the center of Naomi’s life. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved. She especially enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings, where her kitchen often became the heart of the home. Naomi also possessed a special gift for gardening, taking great pride in both her flowers and vegetable gardens. She created beauty and abundance from the soil, reflecting her caring, nurturing spirit and the joy she found in helping things grow.
Naomi was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Hoagland, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her church family. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society for many years.
Those who knew Naomi will remember her as a kind, caring, and devoted woman whose greatest happiness came from caring for others. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and love for family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Surviving are her son, Trent Sprague; stepchildren, Cynthia Eliot, Nancy Drummond, Charles Sprague, Terry (Angela) Sprague, Linda (Bill) Dodge, Geri (Mark) Ewing and Dawn (Rich) Himsel; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Karolyn Kern.
