Obituary

Nancy S. Mahan, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nancy was the daughter of the late Carl and Janet Ostermeier. She married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Mahan, and together they shared 68 beautiful years of marriage. They met as teenagers at church camp through Robinson Chapel Church and, from that moment on, their lives were intertwined in love, faith, and unwavering devotion.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She deeply loved the Lord and lived her faith daily through kindness, service, and quiet strength. She was a true caretaker — always present, always supportive, and always ready to drop everything for those she loved.
She found joy in traveling with Richard, spending time together wherever life took them. She also enjoyed expressing her creativity through crafts and art, pouring her heart into everything she made. Most of all, Nancy treasured visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their laughter and presence always brought the brightest smile to her face.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Mahan; her children, Marlene Woods of Fort Wayne, Kelly (Ted) Konger of Fort Wayne, and Marquita (Chadd) Bowles of Cicero, Indiana; her grandchildren, Chad (Caitlin) Konger, Ryan (Stacy) Konger, Kenny (Renee) Woods, and Mia Bowles; and five cherished great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Tom and Terry Ostermeier.
Service will be 1:30 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Robinson Chapel, 12707 Tonkel Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling will be Saturday, March 7, 2026 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, from 2 pm to 5 pm with The Order of the Eastern Star Service at 4:30 pm.
