Obituary

Mollie Roesler, 93, passed away, Thursday, April 28, 2022. Mollie grew up in Decatur, Illinois and married John Roesler after she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Millikin University. John and Mollie moved to Peoria, Illinois in the mid-1950s where they raised their three children. They spent the winter months of their later years in Naples, Florida. John passed away in February 2020 just months short of their 70th wedding anniversary. Mollie moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana soon after. During their marriage, Mollie ran a home-based business and gave countless volunteer hours to a long list of nonprofits, among them Youth Farm (Decatur), Broadway Theater and Methodist Hospital (Peoria) and the Junior League of Naples. She was an athletic and adventurous soul who reaffirmed her Christian faith in her later years. Mollie liked to party. A supremely social lady, she leaves her three children and their families to mourn her passing: Calie (Jerry) Zawadzke, Erin (Jim) Brennan, and J. Reed (Pam) Roesler; her grandchildren, namesake Mollie, Logan, Connery, Case, Max, Benton and Dane. Mollie's social nature connected her to a world of close acquaintances who regularly entertained one another in their homes. Parties in the Roesler household were common affairs filled with kind, witty, fun-loving friends. Remembrances of Mollie can be sent to her children on the FairHaven Funeral Home Website at www.fairhavenfortwayne.com. No services will be held. Friends can pay tribute to Mollie with kindness and love for one another. Be smart, be bright. Party on.
