Miriam J. Baker, 85, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. Born in New Haven, Indiana on April, 16, 1933, Miriam was the daughter of the late John and Zelda Van Kirk. Miriam and her husband were the former owners of Baker's Marathon and Standard Service Stations for many years. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church for many years prior to her membership at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey A. (Jane) Baker, Phillip Baker; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Miriam was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Larry Baker; sister, Nancy Smith, and twin sister, Marilyn Glasscock. Service is 12 pm, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 10 am until the service. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Georgetowne Assisted Living Activities Fund.
