Michael S. Stamets, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday January 26th, 2026 with his family by his side.
Mike was the co-owner of Stamets Tool and Engineering in Auburn for many years. He also held a seat on the Huntertown Town Council and served on the utility board. Mike was an Eagle Scout earning that distinction at 14 years old.
He enjoyed coin collecting, gardening and fishing. He especially looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wende Jo Stamets; his daughter, Angela (Jason) Rekeweg; son Eric (Jill) Stamets; grandchildren, Haley and Cameron Rekeweg; and brother, David.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Richard and Barbara Stamets; and a brother, Robert.
The family will be holding a private memorial service.
