Michael Todd Harris, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Michael was a son of Michael and Sonja (Strength) Harris.
Michael was a graduate of Snider High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Mobile in Alabama. Michael possessed a deep and lifelong passion for the arts. A natural entertainer, he delighted audiences for many years as a performer at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, where he shared his talents and brought joy to countless guests. His creativity, charisma, and love for performance defined much of his life’s work.
Following his employment at Silver Dollar City, Michael transferred to Newport Aquarium in Newport, KY until his spinal injury. His most recent employment had been with PMA Tools in Fort Wayne, Indiana. During his working years he formed many meaningful friendships.
From an early age, Michael was known for his genuine love for people, his willingness to listen, and his remarkable ability to uplift others. He had a warm and generous spirit, and many fondly remembered that his smile “was bigger than the sun.” In later years, Michael discovered a talent for quilting, a craft he embraced with enthusiasm and skill.
Michael is survived by his parents, Michael and Sonja Harris; his brother, Matt Harris; aunts and uncles, Patti (Eddie) Mosier, Chuck Edwards, Beth (Ted) Smith, David (Idalean) Strength, Yvonne, and Liz; and nieces and nephews, Kileena (Thad), Andrew, Kaleb, and Grayson Harris.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Doris Harris and John and Sarah Strength; and aunts and uncles, Rodney Harris, Susan Edwards, Joyce Minor, and Johnnie Strength.
Calling for Michael will begin at 2 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2025 at Graceway Church, 7810 St. Joe Center Road, with the Celebration of Life at 4 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
