Michael Thomas Farina passed away April 24, 2024 in the care of Parkview Randallia Hospice Care. He was a resident of Saint Anne's home. He was born December 21, 1938 in Detroit, MI, the oldest son of Tom Farina and Frances Scorza. They moved to New Haven, IN when he was four, where he spent the rest of his life. He grew up a member of Saint John's Catholic Church in New Haven and graduated from New Haven High school. After which he joined the Navy, which he loved and was able to travel the world. He retired from the Navy with more than twenty years of service. In his spare time he participated in Civil War Reenactment, Antique car clubs and was a collector and dealer of antique firearms. He loved classical music and sitting on his porch feeding and watching the birds. He loved everyone and never knew a stranger.
He is survived by two daughters, Karissa (Casey) Kalb of Fort Wayne, IN and Melissa Farina of Toledo, OH. His ex-wives, Sharon Farina of Fort Wayne and Lois Guthier of Hicksville, OH and his longtime friend Kimberly Baker of Fort Wayne, IN who made it possible for him to live independently in his own home for so long.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Tom and Fran Farina and one brother Bill Farina.
A Funeral Mass for Michael will take place on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at 11:00 am with calling 1 hour prior at St John The Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St. New Haven.
