Maxine Ruth Federspiel, 95, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2024. Maxine was born to the late George and Edith Poisel on January 5, 1929. Maxine was the 8th of 10 children and attended Woodburn High School. Maxine married the love of her life, Bert Federspiel in 1949 and the two shared a beautiful life together for 41 years before Bert's passing. Maxine worked at the Woodburn Elevator and at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne. Bert and Maxine owned and operated Federspiel Draperies for 40 years. It was due to Maxine's great dedication that Federspiel Draperies was so successful and such a thing to be proud of. Bert and Maxine also shared many trips together. They were able to travel to 10 foreign countries and many US states. Maxine was a loving mother of two, cherished grandmother to five, and true great-grandma to seven. She was a big IU Basketball fan and cheerleader for all her grandkids. Maxine helped install a strong work ethic into her family they now have. She was a great example of a hard-worker that loved big. Most importantly, Maxine was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She lived her life to show others the love of Jesus and made her faith a priority. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace with Jesus and we look forward to seeing her again someday. Until then, we will carry her memory with us in our hearts.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Denise (Steve) Guingrich, daughter-in-law Sherri (Mike) Federspiel; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bert Federspiel; parents George and Edith Poisel; all 9 of her siblings; and son, Mike Federspiel.

Services are 4:00 pm, Sunday August 18, 2024 at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State St. Grabill, IN 46741 with calling two hours prior beginning at 2:00 pm. A private family burial will take place at Harlan Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grabill Missionary Church or The Gideons International.
