Max L. Ehresman, age 92, of Fort Wayne passed away Sunday, August 25th, 2024 in Leo, IN. He was born in Paulding County, OH to the late Shelby and Emma Ehresman. Max was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served at the 39th parallel for 13 months.
Max had a strong faith in Christ and was active in church most of his life. He was a member of Brookside Church. He had a friendly nature and ready smile and enjoyed deep friendships. He worked many years for Mutual Security Life Insurance in Fort Wayne and later as a realtor. Max loved the great outdoors, including golf, hunting, fishing, hiking and skeet shooting. He especially enjoyed his Morgan horses and loved taking his family on buggy rides and winter sleigh rides.
Max is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon (Rupp) Ehresman; daughters Ann Hartsell and Lori (John) Nelson; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Matt) Champion, Stephanie (Christian) Fisher, Jana Leigh, Lindsey (Joel) Gregory, Kendra (Brad) McDaniel, Justin (Jodi) Nelson, and Lisbeth (Silas) McCulfor; and16 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years, Beverly Ehresman, and brothers Donald Ehresman and John Ehresman.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, at Brookside Church, 6102 Evard Rd., with calling one hour prior and 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, August 30, at the church. Burial will be at Woodburn Mennonite Cemetery.
