Maurice "Maury" Joe Mishler, age 86, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Kosciusko County, IN to the late Harry and Escel Fay Mishler. Maury spent 10 years teaching and working at the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. This time formed many lifelong friendships with Navajo students, their families, and other co-workers. He also worked for over 30 years as an English and Music Teacher at Lakeside and Lane Middle Schools in Fort Wayne. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus, and the Old Fort VW Club. Maury loved attending all of his grandchildren's activities and family time at the lake. He is survived by his loving children, Brian (Kim) Mishler, Mikala (Doug) Roth, and Tonya (Danny) Dixon; and grandchildren, Samantha, Mallory, Olivia, Alexis (Jonah), Jonathon (Mikaela), Nicholas (Brooklyn), Korinda (Jordan), and Garrett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann (Cobbs) Mishler; grandson, Austin Mishler; his brother and sister. Calling is 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, August 16, 2024 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N.
