Matthew David Jones passed away unexpectedly due to a tragic car accident, on February 27, 2026 in Fort Wayne, IN at the age of 21.

Born on December 13, 2004 to Jeff & Susan Jones, Matthew was known for his infectious personality and constant drive to be the absolute best that he could be. At the time of his death Matthew was employed by Kenworth of Fort Wayne/Palmer Trucks in the parts department. Matthew was an integral piece of the A. Rae & J. fitness community, working as an interim coach & trainer there. He loved his weekly jiu jitsu rolls, his extensive Star Wars lego building hobby, and spending time with his many friends and family members.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Jeff and Susan Jones (Fort Wayne, IN); siblings, Sophia Jorris (Nathan), Samuel Jones (Allison), and Abigail DeAnda (Alejandro); nieces & nephews, Penny, Charlie, Elsie, Brooks, River, and Sebastian; grandpa Larry Faulkenberg (Bristow, IN), as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by, his grandpa Charles Austill, grandma Kay Austill, grandpa David Jones, grandma Millie Jones-Faulkenberg, and uncle Steve Jones.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at First Assembly of God, 1400 W. Washington Center Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, with the service beginning at 12:45 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
