Matthew "Matt" Girardot, 50, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Matt was the son of the late Lee Dell and Linda Girardot.

Those who knew Matt knew there wasn't much he wasn't willing to tackle. He often described himself as a "Jack of all trades and a master of none," a phrase he wore with pride. Whether fixing something around the house, helping a friend with a project, or finding a creative solution to a problem, Matt was always willing to roll up his sleeves and get to work.

Matt enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures. He loved watching NASCAR races, spending time camping and fishing, and faithfully cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. He also had a passion for building model cars, appreciating the patience and attention to detail each project required.

While Matt enjoyed his hobbies, nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family. Whether gathered around the table, enjoying the outdoors, or simply sharing conversations and laughter, those moments meant the most to him. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he treasured every opportunity to make memories with those he loved.

Surviving are his fiancée, Melissa Klemm; sons, Matt (Dakota) Girardot and Dante (Chloe) Girardot-Owens; stepdaughter, Cynthea Klemm; stepson, Tom Klemm; brother, John (Marcia) Girardot of Utah; nephew, Andrew Girardot; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Dell and Linda Girardot.

A Celebration of Matt's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
