Mary Elizabeth (Hufford) Swanson, 92, went home to be with the Lord on December 25. She was born in Pinellas Park, Florida, to the late Frank and Jean Hufford on December 1, 1933. She married Kenneth Swanson on May 9, 1952, in East Peoria, Illinois. They resided in Morton, Illinois, until 2015 when they moved to Fort Wayne.
Mary is survived by her daughter Nancy (Jeff) Johnson of Fort Wayne; grandsons Justin (Beth) Johnson, Brandon (Rachel) Johnson, Ryan (Savannah) Johnson; great-grandchildren Keller, Fiona, Rigby, Durban, Jupiter and Archy; sisters Joyce (Bob) Scull of Charlotte, NC, and Berniece Cunefare of Peoria, AZ. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; son Charles Swanson; brothers Alvin and Bruce Hufford; and sister Ella Park. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, at 11:00 am at Fairhaven Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 AM until the service.
