Mary Lou Rose
, 85, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025.
Born on August 6, 1939, to Estill and Hester Carroll, Mary was raised with strong values of faith, family, and simplicity. She was confirmed and later baptized in the river in front of her childhood home—an experience that marked the beginning of her lifelong devotion to the Lord. Her steadfast faith carried her throughout her life, and she was a dedicated, longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Mary cherished the simple joys of life: the quiet beauty of nature, the songs of birds outside her window, and the steady rhythm of the world passing by Hamilton Park, where she made her home.
Above all, Mary was devoted to her family. She believed in unconditional love and was a mother not just to her own children, but to many who needed kindness, comfort, or guidance. Her warmth, quiet strength, and open heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Surviving are her sons, Leland (Melissa) Rose, Gary (Deborah) Rose, Mike (Lisa Curry) Rose; sister, Lois McGeorge; grandchildren, Melissa (Dave) Rose-Stocking, Amber Rose-Fay, Chris Rose, Lacy Rose, Matthew (Amy) Rose, Jacob (Jessie) Rose, David (Siearah) Curry, Andrew Rose, Jonathan Rose; 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Mary was preceded in death by husband, Elmer Rose; her step-mom, Bertha Carroll; siblings, Faye Rhotten, Elizabeth Davis, Azaline Martin, Bartie Carrol and Ralph Walker.
Service will be 1 pm, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd, with calling from 11 am until the service. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements. Mary was a mom to all.
