Mary O’Grady, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Robert and Donna (Ellis) Markey SR on January 4, 1961. She graduated from North Side High School. Mary worked at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community as the Head Cook. She had a green thumb and especially loved flowers and gardening. Mary was incredibly caring, kind, and generous to others. She always put others needs before her own. Mary was very active and enjoyed riding her bike, taking walks, and being in the pool. Her favorites holidays were the 4th of July and Halloween and loved decorating for any holiday.

Mary is survived by her sons, Michael O’Grady and Jason O’Grady; grandchildren, Nevaeh O’Grady, Carson O’Grady, Carter O’Grady, Allan O’Grady, Logan Dennis, Hannha Benya, Robert J. Benya, and Clyde Benya; one great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Robert Markey JR, Charles Markey, Tammie (Scott) Mashburn, and Howard Markey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Clara Markey and Diann McNabb; and nephew, James Markey.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community (1900 Randallia Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46805) at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Lindenwood Cemetery.
