Mary Louise Leffel, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mary was a daughter of the late Carl and Matilda Harber. She graduated from Central Catholic High School. During her working years, Mary helped in the cafeteria at East Allen Community Schools and served as a secretary. Mary's main focus was her family and taking care of them with love and affection. She loved spending time with them, and she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and going fishing. She had a strong faith in the Lord and is with him for eternity. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Steve Leffel; children, Jackie (Roger) Voirol, Sherri Federspiel, William (Dawn) Hemmelgarn, John (Shelley) Hemmelgarn; step-children, Renee (Rob) Brouse, Danny Leffel; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl Harber Jr., Judy Jett, and Pearl Yoss. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hemmelgarn; step-mother, Ethel Harnishfeger; step-daughter Yavonne Druckenmiller; siblings, Mildred Foster, Roger Harber, Donnie Harber, Jeri Keipper, Jeanette Hagan, Roseann Hohenstein; and son-in-law, Mike Federspiel. Service is 1 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 11 am until the service. Services will be live streamed on the FairHaven Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
