Marvin Richard Mock, 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 surrounded by his sisters. He was born to the late Marvin E. and Esther J. (Fulton) Mock on Christmas Eve 1947 in Fort Wayne. Richard graduated from Oak Hill High School in Converse, IN in 1966. He graduated from Okmulgee Institute of Technology now known as Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in 1969. While living in Oklahoma, he was a reserve police officer. He later worked at Shephard and Poorman Printing Company in Indianapolis. Richard loved his cats, Seiko and Envy. He enjoyed wallyball, golf, TV westerns and reminiscing about growing up in Sweetser, IN. Richard was a great storyteller and always had the best jokes.
Richard is survived by his sisters, Valerie Young of Marion and Pat (Ron) Jakacky of Fort Wayne; nieces, Jennifer Ledbetter and Valda Hahn both of Fort Wayne; and nephew, Matthew (Felicia) Hahn of Fort Wayne; great-nephews, Thomas Ledbetter of Detroit, MI and Ethan (Charles) Ledbetter of San Fransico, CA; and great-nieces, Ruby Hahn, Alice Hahn, and Esther Hahn all of Fort Wayne. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Mock of Indianapolis.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne.
