Obituary

Marvin "Bud" Hamilton III, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. He was born to the late Marvin and Susanna (Flaningam) Hamilton Jr on December 21, 1943 in Indianapolis. He was an alumnus of Taylor University, Florida Bible College, and Liberty University. Throughout his career he was a National Championship Winning, Hall of Fame College Men's basketball coach, youth pastor, athletic director, sports announcer at South Side High School, and most recently Residential Leadership Director at Pierceton Woods Academy. He was an extraordinary cartoonist, he loved to ride his bike, and he enjoyed spending time on the beach at Lake Michigan. Bud was an avid sports fan, but above all, he loved the Lord and spending time with his family.

Bud is survived by his children, Robert "Bob" (J'Nelle) Hamilton, Jamie (Chris) Stover, Todd Hamilton, and Kim Hamilton; grandkids, Thea, Asher, Grayson, Charley Jo Gracie, Hunter, Logan, and Hudson; the furs, Lady and Trixxi Boots; siblings, Steve (Ann) Hamilton, Sandy (Bill) Hall, Mike Hamilton, and Chris (Dave) Obergfell; and a multitude of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:30 am at Pathway Community Church (1010 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46845).
