Marlene Rose Crowder, age 90, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Richmond, IN, to the late Earl and Margaret Adams.
Marlene served as the director for NEIRRS for nine years, where her compassion helped those with visual impairments. She also worked as a claims adjuster for Lincoln Life and Mutual Security Life.
She was a devoted member of Plymouth Congregational Church, and formerly of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Marlene loved participating in countless church groups centered on Bible studies and mission work.
Marlene is survived by her children, Charles (Tana) Crowder of Upland, IN, Ernest Crowder of Fort Wayne, Cheryl Crowder of Fort Wayne, Jeanne (Mick) Rabley of Lakeland, FL, Jeffrey (Sharon) Crowder of Mobile, AL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Mendel (Charlene) Adams and Ricki (Doug) Kirk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crowder; one great-granddaughter, Michelle Gamble; and one brother, James Adams
A memorial service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W Berry St., with calling one hour prior. A memorial visitation will be 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N.
