Obituary

Mark Delbert Grimes, 61, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Max Grimes and Sandra Vick of Fort Wayne, who survives. Mark was extremely passionate about his favorite sport, football. From high school games, to his cherished Indianapolis Colts, you could regularly find him enjoying watching football. Mark enjoyed living "the retired life" by relaxing and watching his favorite shows. He found much joy riding his motorcycle and being on the road with his bike. Above all, he deeply loved and cared for his family. He regularly told his family how much he loved them and wanted them to know and feel his love for each of them. He took great pride in caring for his mother during the last five years of his life, a testament to his loving nature and commitment to his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Sandra Vick of Fort Wayne; his three children, Mark (Kira) Grimes II, Brandon (Sarah) Grimes, and Megan (Isaiah) Zwick; two grandchildren; siblings, Kevin (Wendy) Grimes of Antioch, CA, Michelle (Matt) Jacobs of Fort Wayne, Brian (Tanya) Grimes of Fort Wayne, Joe (Rachel) Murfield of Fort Wayne, and Chad Murfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Grimes; and his niece, Ally Jacobs. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services at noon, with calling from 11:00 am until the service.
