It has pleased Almighty God on February 10th, 2026 to call into His presence Marilyn Mae Koenig (Walters), of Fort Wayne, who was baptized in the name of the Triune God, trusted in Christ, and whose tears are gone and sorrows have been turned into joy.

Mae was born on January 21st, 1938, graduated from Concordia High School in 1955, and married her high school sweetheart Gene Koenig on March 29th, 1958, enjoying almost 68 years as husband and wife together. They were blessed in their union with 6 children.

Mae loved any family gathering when all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would be with her. She also enjoyed frequent trips to the casino to ‘have fun’, knitting, painting, baking cookies, and making Christmas ornaments for her family every year.

She is survived by her husband Gene, son Michael (Annette) Koenig, daughter Deborah Mosher, son Timothy (Grace) Koenig, son Steven (Andrea) Koenig, son Thomas (Shelly) Koenig and son Joseph (Glenna) Koenig. She is also blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brother Jerry Walters and sister Marjorie Chagnon. She was also preceded in death by her parents Leo Joseph and Marguerite Walters, sister Virginia Hoffman, brother Josie Walters, and sister Gloria Walters.
Funeral services for Mae will take place on Thursday February 19, 2026 at 11 am with visitation beginning at 10 am at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity St. Huntertown. Visitation will also take place on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Burial will follow in Eel River Cemetery.
