Obituary

"She was powerful not because she was scared, but because she went on so strongly, despite the fear." Maya Angelou

Marcia Louise Linsky, 64, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, tragically left us on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.

Marcia was born in Ohio on February 9th, 1959, to Charles and Marjorie Gohlke. From an early age, she wanted to be an attorney, motivated by a passion to advocate for those in need. She graduated from Hudson High School, where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the marching band. She later attended Indiana University majoring in History and Economics, actively participated in the synchronized swimming team, and graduated in 1981. Continuing her academic excellence, she graduated with honors from Indiana University Law School and passed the bar exam in 1984.
Following law school, she served as a law clerk at Allen Superior Court in the Criminal Division. Her aspiration to become a trial attorney led her to a position at the Allen County Prosecutor's office in the drug division. She served as a deputy prosecutor, an Allen County magistrate, and more recently, she put her years of criminal law and courtroom experience to use as a criminal defense attorney for clients in need. Marcia's desire to help others made her a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. Her unwavering commitment set a high standard, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
In addition to her legal career, she also taught at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne as an adjunct criminal justice professor. She was an active board member of Blue Jacket Inc., a local non-profit focused on helping individuals gain employment. She took pride in introducing new ideas and concepts related to the criminal justice system through her podcast "On the Level with Linsky."

Marcia was a pillar of her community, giving a voice to those in need and striving to make the world a better place. She was generous with her extensive legal knowledge, providing pro bono support and mentoring many new legal professionals over the years. She was known as a trusted friend to many and always made herself available to lend a listening ear and offer support whenever needed.

Amongst all her titles, she held mom and Gigi closest to her heart. Marcia is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (John) Schlichter, stepdaughter Amanda Linsky, stepsons Nicholas (Victoria) Linsky and Daniel (Kelley) Linsky, five grandchildren, and two dogs.
