Maralee A. Lewis, age 93, born in Huntington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday November 3, 2024. Maralee was a woman who embraced life's simple joys, especially those shared with family. She had a talent and love for quilting, sewing, and cooking, and delighted in the beauty of nature. Many of her happiest days were spent fishing, mushroom hunting, or simply enjoying quality time at Adams Lake. She loved spending time at the beach. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren and family.
Maralee is survived by her children: Michael (Mary) Lewis, Jennifer (Liegh Elrod) Lewis, Jo Ann Reed, and Jim (Laura) Lewis Jr.; her eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Helen Kramer, and brother-in-law, Jack Lewis. Maralee was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, James R. Lewis; her grandson, James R. Lewis III; and her grandson, Simeon Reed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 8, 2024 at 11:30 am with visitation beginning at 10:30am at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St. Visitation will also take place on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 5-8 pm also at the funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in North Manchester. Preferred memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Alzheimer's Association.
