Obituary

Mani passed away on Valentines Day, February 14, 2025, with her family at her side. Mani was born on Mother's Day, May 8, 1977, in Eugene, Oregon. Mani was baptized at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth, Michigan and confirmed at Island Lutheran Church, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She was a member of Promise Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana.



Mani graduated from Hilton Head High School on Hilton Head Island. Mani was active in the Special Olympics, receiving several medals for her swimming. Mani was a member of PEP for many years in South Carolina. Mani loved dancing, yoga and sneaking food. Mani took pride in her jobs, rolling silverware at Outback Steakhouse, and cleaning rooms at Springhill Suites for many years. Mani brought much sunshine to our lives with her warm smile, generous heart, and infectious laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.



Mani leaves behind her mother, Kathy Meyer, of Fort Wayne, her sister Zara and brother-in-law Scott Hedtke of Fort Wayne, her brother Colin Meyer of Ridgway, Colorado, and her favorite nieces Grace (Isaiah) Rusher, of West Lafayette, Indiana, Hope, Joy, and Glory Hedtke of Fort Wayne. Mani is survived by her beloved aunts, uncles and cousins and her dog Coco. Mani is also survived by her father, Richard McKean. Her grandparents, Wilmar and Marie Haubenstricker of Frankenmuth predeceased her.



A celebration of life and visitation will be held March 8, 2025 from 1—4 pm, with a short service following, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.



Mani's body has been donated to Indiana University, School of Medicine, for the advancement of medical knowledge.



We are grateful for the care given to Mani at Byron Health Center.  Charitable donations in Mani's name can be made to either the Alzheimer's Association ( Donate Here ) or to PEP (Programs for Exceptional People), dedicated to enhancing the lives of special needs adults ( Donate Here )
