Obituary

Major Mark Brown, age 69 passed away on July 8, 2024 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Evansville, IN to the late James and Irene Brown. Mark proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. After his time in the military, he was an ordained minister within The Salvation Army. He was ordained and received his commission as Lieutenant in June, 1997 and retired July 1, 2021. Mark received his final promotion in Salvation Army terms, Promoted to Glory on July 8, 2024.

Mark had numerous appointments including Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. He had a quirky personality which endeared him to others. Mark cared deeply for others and served in Jesus name the whosoever without reservation. He was a good Bible teacher with the ability to relate scripture in practical terms.

Mark is survived by his brother, Glenn (Phyllis) Brown; niece, Laura Sandefur Brown; and nephews, Brian Brown, Jeff Brown; sister-in-law, Judy Woods. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Brown.
