M. Helene Keys, 85, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, September 9, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Helene was the daughter of the late Wayne and Clara Bechtel. She graduated from South Whitley High School. She worked for Shambaugh and Son's and Hagerman Construction for many years until her retirement. Member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Helene enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, gardening, and rooting for Bishop Dwenger and Purdue Sporting Teams. Surviving are her husband Bill Keys; children, John (Penny) Wendel, Robert Wendel; grandchildren, Ryan, Dana, Amber Wendel; great-grandchild, Willow Sage; sister, Juanita Bohnstedt; brother, Ray Bechtel. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or American Heart Association. Mass of Christian Ressurrection is 11 am, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with calling from 9:30 am until the service.
