Obituary

Lynn E. Thompson, 81, of Ossian, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025. He was born to the late Ernie Millon and Sarah Bernice (Strater) Thompson on November 8, 1944, in Kendallville, IN. He married the late Sharon Kay Horine on August 16, 1964, she preceded him in death in 2002. Lynn was a licensed funeral director for 44 years at Hunt and Sons Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, IN, D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, IN, and Elzey-Patterson-Rodak in Ossian, IN. Lynn was a member of Ossian United Methodist Church and a member of American Legion Post 241 in Waynedale, IN. He loved golfing and reading.

Lynn is survived by his children, Bradley Lynn (Robin) Thompson of Texas and Sondra Marley of OH; grandchildren, Cash Clayton Thompson, Kristen Kay (Justin) Alexander, Amanda Mae Mall, and Allison Rae Mall; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Kay Alexander; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Burkitt.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
