Lucius Bearfield Jr.

1948-2026

Lucius Bearfield Jr., 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026.

Lucius was Born in Marion Alabama on March 27th, 1948 to Lucius Bearfield Sr and Rosie Bearfield (Fowlkes). Lucius attended McCulloch Elementary School through 6th grade and he finished his schooling at Central High School. Lucius will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Lucuis was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1977 along with his wife, Jeanette. He was a member of the Maumee River Congregation in Fort Wayne Indiana. He loved giving Bible discourses and sharing life saving good news from the Bible. After retiring he was able to enjoy the full time ministry for some years. He loved fishing with family and friends. He was affectionately known as Bruh, Daddy and Pawpaw. He always loved taking care of his family and friends and whenever you came to him and his wife's home he always wanted to make sure you had something to eat. Even at his sickest moments when asked how he was doing. He would say "Not too bad", and he would always say “Thanks” for everything you did for him. But the only one who could make his ‘grits’ correctly was his sister Emma.

Surviving are his daughters- Joyce (Gary) Walker of Georgetown, Kentucky, Tameka McGraw of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Grand Children- Gerren (Mia) Walker of Kissimmee Florida, Bailey (DaVontae) Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Great-Grandchildren- Ar‘Mon Bearfield of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Naomi and Davaughn Williams of Fort Wayne Indiana. Sister- Emma Rogers of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Nieces-Faith (Willis) Benson of Fort Wayne, Charity McClarity of Mount Dora, Florida and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Bearfield. His parents- Lucius Bearfield Sr and Rosie Bearfield (Fowlkes). Paternal grandparents- Frank Bearfield and Emma Anderson and Maternal grandparents Dave Fowlkes and Hester Rutledge. Father and Mother in Law- James Allison Sr and Ruby Allison (Storey). Brother-Benjamin (Bertha) Bearfield.
