Lorene Mason, age 94, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Fort Wayne. She was born in Columbus, IN, to the late John and Coy Green.

An avid swimmer with her husband, Chester, for more than forty years, they both loved Indiana University basketball. Lorene was active in her church and especially loved her ladies Bible study. For years, until the last months of her life, she shared the gospel's good news with neighbors, friends, and many others across her path. She was proud to be a Hoosier, but now resides in a more remarkable place than her beloved Indiana—heaven.

Lorene is survived by her three children—John (Linda) Mason of Tulsa, OK; Pam (Don) Schuetz of Downers Grove, IL; and Jill Clark of Hilton Head Island, SC; eight grandchildren—Michelle, Greg (Kelley), Mike (Brittany), Dave, Rachel, Natalie, Brian (Rachel), and Amy; and five great-grandchildren—Emma, Olivia, Beckett, Darby, and Briggs.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; four siblings, Lelia Dunbar, Madge Harris, Norma Pulliam, and Bob Green; and her son-in-law, Randy Clark.

The funeral service is at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Rd., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton Street. The burial is at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
