We mournfully announce the passing of Lora Hewitt, a woman known for her kindness, generosity, and easy-going nature. Lora was born on September 30, 1968, and left us too soon on February 4, 2026. Her resilience in life lessons will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A loving mother and grandmother, Lora is survived by her daughters, Allison Brooks and Ansley Hewitt; her step-children, Ryan, Dalanie, and Bryson Hewitt; her grandchildren, Chloe Robinson, Ryder, and Madison Hewitt, Natalie, Mallory and Dawson Cowart; her mother, Pat Akins; her sister, Angie Brockhouse; and her brother, Chris Voirol. Her warmth will also be remembered by her mother-in-law, Alice Hewitt, and her niece and nephews, Heather and Dustin Voirol, and John Heintzleman.
Lora was predeceased by her much-loved husband, Jimmy Hewitt; her father, Sylvester Voirol; her sister, Lisa Voriol; and her grandparents, John and Mildred Voirol, Imogene Maldeney, and Bob Wissler. Their memory lived on in Lora's heart, and we believe she has now reunited with them in peace.
Lora led a life full of small pleasures. She found joy in the things she loved most, which included watching her favorite TV show, "Grey's Anatomy", playing Sudoku, Mahjong, and Rummikub, scratching lottery tickets, and sipping on her favorite drink, Coke! A lover of the outdoors, Lora found solace in fishing, gardening, and taking her 3-legged dog, Rudy, out. She always enjoyed spending time by the water or at the beach, playing BINGO on Wednesday Nights, attending family events and holidays, and crocheting. She often spent her time supporting her family at their sports events and enjoyed a good Colts football game.
The world is a little less bright without Lora. Her loving and helpful nature had a profound impact on those around her, and she leaves behind a space that can never be filled. While we grieve for our loss, we also strive to remember Lora in the way she would have wanted: by exhibiting resilience in the face of adversity, and by carrying on her legacy of love, fun, and easy-going spirit.
Lora will be greatly missed by every life she touched, near or far. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember that her spirit lives on in the family she raised, and in the countless lives she impacted during her time with us.
