Dr. Linda M. Finke, 74, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Born in Indianapolis, Linda was a daughter of the late Jon and Dorothy (Houk) Glenn. Linda earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University. She furthered her education and received her master's in nursing from the University of Cincinnati and earned her PhD. in educational leadership from the University of Miami Ohio. Linda had a successful career in the education of the nursing program for many years. She was an educator for the University of Cincinnati, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, she served as Associate Dean for Nursing at Indiana University and served as Dean of Health Sciences at IPFW where she retired from. Family was most important to Linda, and cherished time with them. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and antiquing with her husband Bruce. A perfect day for Linda would be with her family, driving up to Lake Michigan watching the beautiful colors of fall taking effect. Surviving are her husband, Bruce Finke; children, Scott Finke, Kelly Finke; brothers, Jerry (Lynda) Glenn, and Jeff (Tammy) Glenn. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Linda's Home, 2829 Foxchase Run Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. A second Celebration of Linda's Life will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Irvington United Methodist Church, 30 N. Audubon Rd. Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. Linda will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Arc of Northeast Indiana.
