Linda Kay Chatman Beachem lovingly known as (Pumpkin) passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024. She was born on June 21, 1953 to Leonard Beachem Jr. and Mary Catherine in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Both parents proceeded her in death.
Linda was a dedicated Christian, who lived her life with unwavering faith, love, and kindness. She touched the lives of many with her infectious smile, compassionate heart, genuine, and transparent nature, as well as her steadfast devotion to her beliefs. Linda recently retired from the Foster Grandparents Senior Corps Program, where she worked as a childcare provider assistant in various daycare centers.
Throughout her life, Linda Kay Chatman was known for her selflessness, sacrifice, generosity, fun-loving spirit, resilience, and social butterfly personality. She dedicated herself to her children always putting their needs above her own. She was so proud to be "Granny" and "Gran-Gran." Linda's grand-babies brought her so much happiness. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings, cousins, and visiting her aunts and uncles. Her love was always shown and her nurturing presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition, Linda had a passion for shopping and pampering herself. Although she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, she found much joy in watching her TV shows, especially the "Andy Griffith Show" with her dog, Angel, who she adored. Pumpkin was always pouring wisdom into others and concerned for their well-being.
Linda Kay Chatman leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is survived by her two children; Herman Anthony Wright, and C M Lamore Catherine (Kenneth) Williams. Six grandchildren; Malounda Wright, Teshlyn Johnson, Quentin Wright, Amir Adams, Oscar (Anyisa) Wright, and Kendyn Williams. One grandchild proceeded her in death Marque Wright. Six great-grandchildren; LaTaviana McMillan, Malachi Wright, De'Jour Wright, Da'Mir Wright, De'Lyn Wright, and Zoë Glover. Four siblings; Claudia (Mark) McGraw, David Johnson, Mary (James) Abecrombie, and Victor (BerDonna) Beachem. One sister-in-law proceeded her in death Mary Johnson. A host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be 1 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 11 am until the service.
