Lewis G. Roby, age 74, passed away January 8, 2026, at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Medina, OH, to the late Frank and Bettyann Roby (Fisher). He graduated in 1973 with a BA in History from Principia College, where he met his future wife, Alix Haynes. Later, in 1981, he completed his Master's Degree in Counseling from George Mason University.

Lewis dedicated much of his life to serving others. He worked as a school social worker for at-risk teens, later transitioned into work as a loan officer, and before retirement spent years driving a school bus, where he enjoyed connecting with students. During the summers, he worked at Camp Leelanau as a “laundry dad,” a role he embraced so his son could attend camp.

In his free time, Lewis loved watching sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts, IU basketball and football, and Michigan basketball. Above all, he enjoyed being a dad and grandpa.

Lewis is survived by his son, Jeffrey Roby; two grandchildren, Anari and Jeremiah; and his brother, Lee Roby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alix Haynes, who passed away in August 2020, and they married in 1975.
