Leonard Peter LaBundy, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Sharon, Wisconsin, Len was a son of the late Albert LaBundy and Doris Erhardt. Len served our country in the U.S. Army, 3rd Calvary Spearhead Division. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #166 for 55 years as a Pipefitter and later as the Apprenticeship Coordinator. He then served as the Director of Apprenticeship Programs with IVY Tech for 10 years. Len had a passion for continued education, reading his Bible and other books, and photography. He enjoyed taking walks, riding his bike, traveling, gardening, relaxing in the sun around the pool and watching football with his family-especially the Colts and the Packers. He was very active with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's school and athletic events. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sandra LaBundy; children, Lori (Robin Swartz) LaBundy, Steven (Christina) LaBundy, Scott (Pam) LaBundy, Lisa (Karl) Madinski; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Alwyn (Doris) LaBundy; and his faithful 4-legged companion, Happy Raven. Leonard was preceded in death by his grandson Clayton Leonard Garrett; and siblings, Norman LaBundy, and Sydney LaBundy; A Celebration of Leonard's Life will be held at 11 am, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice (Fort Wayne) or the local Fort Wayne Alzheimer's Association.
