Larry Gordon Moore of Fort Wayne, IN passed peacefully from this life at 8:15 am, on September 5, 2025, after a very long illness. Born in Chicago, IL, to Reverend Barney Moore and Velma Moore (Estill), he graduated from Princeton High School of Princeton, IL in 1970 and attended Bob Jones University of Greenville, SC and Judson University of Elgin, IL, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He continued his Master of Divinity studies in New Testament at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS.
Larry married the love of his life, Elizabeth Weiss, in 1978, preceding her in death after 47 years of marriage. He was the loving husband and father of four surviving children; Sarah (Jeff) Stoller, Shawn Moore, Scot (Reina Marooka) Moore, and Stan Moore; loving grandfather five beautiful grandchildren, Shiloh, Selah, Joah, Jalen, and Jack Stoller; brother, Randy (Connie Schulski) Moore; and brother-in-law, Terry Huff. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janet Huff; and one brother, Garry Moore.
Larry worked as a painting contractor for Fermilab of Batavia, IL, and a logistics manager at Advocate Health Care Systems Laboratory for Wisconsin and Illinois. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of America.
Larry enjoyed church choral directing and was a tenor soloist at numerous churches. He and his wife Elizabeth travelled for Central Baptist Theological Seminary, as a music ministry, presenting musical program in churches, recruiting future seminarians, and preaching the Gospel. He was a member of the Kansas City Chorale and performed operatic roles with Bell Road Barn Dinner Playhouse Theater. He enjoyed performing seasonally in a Madrigal group for the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and many other venues.
Funeral services will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church of Leo, IN, 11714 Grabill Rd., on Saturday, September 13, 2025. A wake will precede the service from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Leo Memorial Park, 14600 Leo Rd.
