Kunio Cho, 67, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. Born in Yokohama, Japan, Kunio was a son of the late Koichi Cho and Eiko Cho who survives in Hadano, Japan. As a young man Kunio enjoyed camping, with friends in Japan. Kunio and his wife Eli met in Romania, when Eli served as his interpreter. They married in 2004, in the United Kingdom. Kunio, Eli, and their daughter Erica moved to the USA in 2008 to work for OJI Intertech. Kunio served in many capacities in his 30 plus years for Oji Interpack. Kunio felt a strong responsibility to care for his family, and made many trips to visit his mother and father in Japan, as well as trips to Romania to visit Eli's family. Kunio showed his deep love for Eli and Erica by investing his time to be with them. They enjoyed playing board games together, taking long walks as a family, and visiting places in the US and around the world. It was important for Kunio to share his heritage and love for his home country with his daughter. He invested much time in fostering her love for the Japanese Culture. He enjoyed discovering Japanese stores, and restaurants in towns he visited. He was a fan of solving challenging Sudoku puzzles. One of the things Kunio was most proud of was supporting his daughter, Erica in all her activities. The family traveled together to spelling competitions and quizzes all over Indiana. Kunio is also survived by his daughter, Kumiko and her family who reside in Japan. Kunio will be remember as a kind and gentle man who was content with his life. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. In lieu of any flowers, memorials may be made to his daughter Erica's Education Fund in c/o Adi Cho. A memorial service to honor Kunio Cho will be held on Sat, Feb 19th, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 E Tillman Rd, Fort Wayne, IN. For those who still want to pay their respects, but may not feel comfortable in a crowd due to the current pandemic, a visitation will take place on the same day, at the same place, from 10:00 am.
